Melbourne Staycation: The Marriott Hotel…

Without sounding biased, Melbourne, my home city, is quite extraordinary. Hidden laneways, secret bars, vibrant street art, cultured cuisine and acclaimed entertainment all await to be discovered. And right in the heart of it all, The Marriott Hotel is the perfect place for a staycation within the city of Melbourne.

The Marriott Hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance from the historic theatres of Melbourne, an ideal venue when catching a Broadway or comedy show. Pre-theatre dining or drinks before a show can be enjoyed at The Marriott’s signature restaurant, The Essence or at the Elements Bar.

Sophisticated surroundings alongside a warm and friendly atmosphere are proudly flaunted at the Marriott. Yet, among the evident contemporary flair of the hotel, the important history and bygone times of Melbourne city are equally clear through many photographs and memorabilia displayed throughout the Marriott. These vintage pictures can be found in the hotel foyer and corridors, the suites, and even the placemats served on room service trays. Melbourne in the 1950’s, a different era altogether, but a lovely touch by the Melbourne Marriott of what was and what is now.

With one of the largest standard hotel rooms in Melbourne, The Marriott is not only comfortable but extremely generous in size. A separate spacious robe area and sizable marble bathroom with elite toiletries, are a pleasant luxury. The Marriott suites also offer efficient WiFi service and Melbourne skyline views.

On Level 1, guests can work out at the fitness centre or take a dip in the heated salt water pool. Another great way to recharge on that weekend away, before heading down to a delicious Melbourne buffet breakfast.

Sometimes, a night away or weekend mini break is all it takes to relax and rejuvenate, and the Melbourne Marriott is a fitting choice. The experience of a staycation, even if it’s in your own backyard like Melbourne, enables an appreciation and sense of vacation despite it being only a night or two. It’s an easy mini holiday, less packing, in addition to supporting your local community. Reconnect with your home city, and check out the galleries, museums, parks and theatres which you may consider solely for tourists. Rediscover your city through the eyes of a visitor for a change.

Have you ever taken a staycation?
