Auckland is a real foodies haven for fresh produce and fine wine. An undeniable combination of the good things in life. Satisfying your appetite in Auckland is a piece of cake. An increasing growth of immigration brings an exciting combination of multicultural food to the city. The extensive choice of cuisines will have you wanting to taste your way around this cultural flourishing hub.
Staying at the Cordis Hotel in the vibrant uptown district of Upper Queen Street and Karangahape Road, an array of dining options awaits. Fast food stores, Japanese, Korean BBQ restaurants, gelatarias, mid-range eateries and fine dining options are some of the choices you may have a dilemma choosing from.
Nevertheless, to devour your way through “the city of sails” is one way to experience the delicious fare of Auckland.
Below are four of my favourite eateries when visiting Auckland, New Zealand…
Giapo Ice Cream
This place is for the serious dessert artiste. Be warned, it’s not your regular gelato shop! Instead, be guided through an elaborate creative menu of sophisticated yet eccentrically designed sweet treats. Friendly staff guide you through a decadent flavoured ice cream menu enabling sampling of each unique flavour while explaining the origin of the Italian owner’s dream. Delicious flavours and a must when in Auckland. Make sure to visit the most Instagrammable foodies destination in Auckland.

Da Vinci’s Restaurant
Literally a hop, step and jump from the Cordis Hotel, Da Vinci’s Italian restaurant was a perfect choice for dinner one evening. All we had to do was cross the road and we were welcomed into this authentic Italian trattoria. Having two branches in Auckland, we dined at the City Road branch, in a charming 19th century building. Da Vinci’s have served traditional pizzas, pastas and Mediterranean dishes since 1980. An extensive range of local and international wines and a cosy and friendly atmosphere, have the locals faithfully returning.

Best Ugly Bagels
I had read a few reviews about Best Ugly Bagels before holidaying in New Zealand. With many “Insta” posts and nothing but positive feedback, I decided to check out Best Ugly Bagels for breakfast. Well, let me tell you, the reports are all true, and we returned the next morning as well to indulge in these delicious and not so ugly bagels!
Hand made with love on the premises, watch your little bundles of joy being prepared by the super friendly staff. Punched, hand rolled, boiled in sweet honey water and then wood fired with New Zealand Manuka hard wood,. Best Ugly Bagels deliver the tastiest bagels around. The only difficulty you will face is making a choice from the extensive menu available!

Ah now I’m in trouble, so hungry after seeing your photos. Da Vincis Italian looks incredible but the ice cream just seems fantastic. What a place, that must be so good to experience. Do you go every day?
