Why Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth…

Ever been to a place where you find yourself walking around smiling endlessly? For my family and I, that place would have to be, without doubt, Disneyland. There are many reasons why I consider Disneyland to be the happiest place on earth.

No matter in which corner of the globe you experience the wonder of Disneyland, an unforgettable adventure always awaits.

One man’s determination and dream, created a magic like no other. A special sense of reality and imagination combined. A magic where memories are made to last forever.

“Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Walt Disney

Here are 8 reasons why I consider Disneyland to be the most happiest place on earth…

  1. The True Magic of Disney

With over 100 attractions to entertain you, Disneyland magic is surely contagious.  A captivating atmosphere where enchanting Disney music is played continually throughout the park makes you forget about your regular day to day routine and makes you believe you are in a magical faraway land. Intoxicated with Disney sugary sweets and wearing those adorable Mickey Mouse ears, you will definitely capture that magic spark. Disneyland also provide special occasion badges to wear. Whether it’s your birthday, anniversary or your first time to Disneyland, wear your badge proudly as you explore the park.

  1. Unforgettable Parades and Fireworks Show

Disneyland sure knows how to put on a show. Entertainment guarantees no disappointment. Open till midnight (check times before as each park will differ), Disneyland offer spectacular night time parades with characters and floats and an extravagant firework display over the Disney castle. Lighting shows, concerts, storytelling and meeting Disney characters are also on offer throughout the day. But, make sure to check out the website prior for times, schedules and an explanation of shows on for that day.

  1. Adorable Disney Characters

Occasionally you may be lucky to see and capture a photo with your favourite Disney characters while roaming the park. Usually Mickey and Minnie can be found at their houses. Others can be spotted in Toon Town. Another great opportunity is before the evening parades, where the characters are out and about. Or guarantee yourself a breakfast, lunch or dinner with Disney characters at the character dining experience. Take your camera and autograph book along as you share your meal with your Donald Duck, Goofy and their friends.

  1. Hair-Raising Rides

Any theme park needs rides, right? Well Disneyland has rides for all ages. Classic oldies and dynamic newbies. From the slow-paced Dumbo’s ride and The Haunted Mansion, to the adrenaline pumping rollercoasters such as Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Matterhorn Bobsled.

  1. It’s Great for All Ages

Who says you need to have kids to go to Disneyland? Anyone young at heart can enjoy the wonders of Disneyland. Catering for all ages, older generations will appreciate the classic Davy Crockett’s Explorer whereas the younger generation will relate to the latest Marvel additions. Find your childhood heroes at Disneyland no matter what age you are!

  1. Enchanting Downtown Disney

After a long day wandering the park, relax and unwind at Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney is brightly illuminated at night creating another special world within Disneyland. With unique shops, galleries and restaurants, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a meal and share a few drinks while listening to live music.

  1. Enjoy the Festivities at Christmas and Halloween

Special occasions such as Christmas and Halloween have their own exceptional activities and decorations within the park. Regular rides such as The Haunted Mansion, whose theme was the Night Before Christmas (when we visited during Halloween) are embellished with appropriate ornaments and décor. Themed sweet treats are available at the candy store and the day and night parades are equally designed specialised props for each festivity. Just when you thought Disneyland could not get anymore magical, try visiting during Halloween or Christmas!

  1. Spark your Imagination and Creativity

There are so many talented employees at Disneyland. Actors, musicians, singers and dancers perform daily. Innovative and artistic shows entertain thousands each day.  Walt Disney’s creativity and imagination are prominent throughout Disneyland. In actual fact, Main Street was inspired from Walt’s hometown in Missouri. His dream and mission, created for all of us to share, definitely sparks the inner child within. Feel like a Prince or a Princess for just one day at Disneyland.

Insider Tip: Wherever you travel, planning your trip is important, especially during peak periods of travel. The same applies to Disneyland. Whether you have a one-day pass or three-day pass, make sure you do your homework before you arrive. The Disneyland website is a handy resource where you can plan your day, download maps and even install the Play Disney Parks app so you can interact with the theme park from your phone. Utilise the Fast Pass service and book restaurants and character dining up to 60 days in advance.

  3. I have been to the Disneyland in Hong Kong and I sure would love to go again. With Adi this time and see the glee on his face. The caramel popcorn I had inside was magnificent and as expensive too! But boy oh boy, I felt like a 5-year-old and that was priceless. Have you been to more than one? xx

  4. Thank you so much for this post, Lorelle! We’re thinking about going this year (to Paris), so I will definitely pre-plan things! You’ve made me really excited now. Fingers crossed it happens x

  5. I just love Disney, it’s my guilty pleasure! I’ve only been to the Paris, as I have difficulty travelling. I went for what I think was my seventh time last summer, and wrote a little blog series about it.
It’s a place you can’t help but smile at!
