The British influence in Hong Kong is indisputable and the traditional English Afternoon Tea continues to be a popular affair.
The sophisticated Tiffin Lounge, located on the mezzanine level of the Grand Hyatt hotel, carries the acclaimed reputation for its indulgent afternoon tea. Operating since 1989, Tiffin Lounge is one of the cities leading and recognised venues for an afternoon tea delight.
The timeless style of the Tiffin Lounge is evident, from the black marble staircase to the incredibly high ceilings. The comfortable plush lounges and spaciously laid decor, entice guests to sit back, relax and enjoy the elegant surroundings. Hidden gardens and contemporary artwork are unique features of Tiffin. The endless glass windows offer spectacular views of Victoria Harbour both day and night. You can appreciate these panoramic views in the afternoon and evening, while a live band plays jazz and classical melodies.
The impeccable service at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, is carried through to Tiffin Lounge. The professional and friendly staff attentively attend to guests and discretely adjust or replace cutlery and napkins when needed.
French champagne is poured and a selection of tea from Canada, is brought to the table in a fine wooden chest. Choose from a variety of classic black tea, green tea, or fruit tisane. Our choices for the afternoon included a wild berry tea and a delicious fragrant pear tea, both served in elegant fine bone china teapots and tea cups. The tea is brewed perfectly, as each pot of tea comes with its own individual hourglass, so you know exactly when your tea is ready to be enjoyed.
Served on a tiered platter, and beginning with the savory delights first are, English scones, traditional finger sandwiches, mini Wagyu beef cheek burgers, quiches and mini Beef Bourguignon pies. A special addition of Foie gras mousse with port wine and black winter truffle is a pleasant surprise.
The abundant sweet selection at Tiffin Lounge is one to completely devour. Head Chef Robert Liu delivers a French inspired selection of éclairs, tarts and cakes that would melt any sweet tooth’s heart. Additionally, why not try the live dessert station. The temptation of mille-feuille, canelé’s and macarons is undeniable. Make sure to keep room for the crêpes Suzettes and the hazelnut apple obanyaki, all freshly made by Chef Robert Liu. However, the icing on the cake, would have to be the all-you-can-eat, homemade ice cream selection. The generous and heavenly range of flavours include, roasted almond apricot, salted lime sorbet, mango coconut, french dark chocolate, cassia frozen yoghurt and sea salted toffee chocolate swirl. A single scoop of this delectable treat is all that is needed to conclude this exquisite and memorable afternoon tea.

Looks fabulously posh and self-indulgent. Unfortunately I don’t drink tea so would be their worst customer but the food looks tasty so you never know.

Looks delightful. Very elegant. Is there a dress code? I imagine pretty wasted floral dresses would b3 the order of the day.
